About
India, by the numbers.
Deshboard puts India’s official statistics in one place, in plain language, with the source one click away.
Public debate is full of numbers, and it is hard to tell which ones are real. Here you can look up what an official body actually published (inflation, fuel prices, economic growth, the Union Budget, crime and more), read what the figure means and what it does not, and open the original release yourself.
We cover prices, the national economy, public finance, government spending, education, and crime and safety. A topic is added only when every number on it can be traced to an official source, and each page says plainly whether its numbers are final or still an early estimate.
Independent and non-partisan
We do not take sides or tell you what to conclude. Government terms appear on charts only to show who was in office when, never who caused a change, and we never use party colours. If a figure is missing, revised or not comparable, the page says so.
